Today in this article let’s talk about the biography of Sitaram Kattel “Dhurmus” and Kunjana Ghimire “Suntali”.

While talking about him he is a very popular national level comedian and a very famous artist of Nepal who is more commonly known by his another name “Dhurmus”. He was born in Solukhombu district as the elder son of Bograj Kattel and Kamala Kattel on 4th Ashad, 2040 BS. When he was 8 years old he along with his family migrated to Gauradaha of Jhapa District. He completed his secondary level education from the same place. He had to face economic burden and crisis since the childhood as he belonged to a family with low income.So he used to plough the field of others and make sketches to earn money for buying the stationeries. In spite of his poverty, he was one of the genuine posing sharp minds and competitive student of his school. He passed his School Level Certificate in the first division. Then he came to Kathmandu for his further study

By cracking the joke and among his friends, he used get the treat of foods. After few months of the settlement in Kathmandu, he grew an ultimate desire to be an artist. As the time passed by, he got the opportunity for the short dialogue on very popular TV show “Hijo Aaja ka Kura”. He gets introduced with Kedar Ghimire(Magne Budo) on the set of Geetanjali Telefilm. In the same time, he worked in fourteen episodes of Tito Satya with Dipak Raj Giri. After then, he with Kedar Ghimire made the concept of Meri Bassai. These duos got very popular as Dhurmus and Magne Budo from meri Bassai. He was then very popular with characters as Dhurmus, Khadkaji, Muskan Pasa, with mimicry of K.P Sharma, Khadananda and more than dozens of characters.

With the flow of time, he got married to his own co-star of Meri Bassai Kunjana Ghimire very popular as Suntali. At the date, they have a very lovely daughter Subihani.

Similarly, He recently is involved in film production and acted, production in the comedy based hit films “Cha Eka Cha” and “Oda Number 6”. After the devastating earthquake 2072 B.S.

Talking about Suntali(Kunjana Ghimire) she was born in Lalitpur. She completed her schooling and childhood in Lalitpur. She was fond of helping her father in his field while going to school. She also had an ultimate desire to be a good actress and comedian.
She had her successful role in “Meri Bassai”. At the set of Meri Bassai she felt in love with Dhurmus. They got married in 2009. She started her career from a hit comedy show called meri bassai. She also visited many places around the world to perform comedy. Her popular caricature includes Fatauri Aamai.She is a versatile actress, a comedian as well as a social worker in Nepal.

Sitaram Kattel (Dhurmus) with his wife Kunjana Ghimire (Suntali) duo is very actively involved in social welfare works. They have been helping the poor people to raise and uplift the sadness and grief of Nepalese. They have initiated many beautiful projects too. They have recently distributed the relief materials among the community people of Musahar people (one of the most deprived people of Nepal) of Bardibas. They have established Dhurmus-Suntali Foundation in 2072 B.S. for the continuation of their social welfare works. They got massive support from the social media and a huge flow of helping hands. Both of them are hugely respected and loved.
